Sonderhefte und Beilage über 60 Jahre Bundesrepublik: Happy Birthday-Publikationen für die Soziale Marktwirtschaft
Köln. – Deutschland feierte im abgelaufenen Jahr den 60. Jahrestag der Gründung der Bundesrepublik – untrennbar verbunden mit der Verkündung des Grundgesetzes am 23. Mai 1949, ebenso untrennbar verbunden mit der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft, die im Westen Deutschlands einen beispiellosen wirtschaftlichen Wiederaufstieg ermöglichte.
Die INSM beteiligte sich an verschiedenen publizistischen Vorhaben im Zuge dieses Jubiläums.
- „60 Jahre Bundesrepublik – eine Wohlstandsbilanz.“ Bereits am 26. Januar erschien unter diesem Titel ein Sonderheft der WirtschaftsWoche: Anhand wissenschaftlicher Fakten wird auf 130 Seiten untersucht, wie sich Wirtschaft, Lebensqualität und Wohlstand der Menschen entwickelt haben. Seit dem Jahr 1950 hat sich das Bruttoinlandsprodukt pro Kopf real fast versechsfacht. Damit gehört die Bundesrepublik zu den reichsten Ländern der Erde. Kürzere Arbeitszeiten, mehr Urlaub – auch die Lebensqualität der Menschen hat sich in 60 Jahren Sozialer Marktwirtschaft enorm verbessert. „Das Ende der Marktwirtschaft?“ Unter diesem Titel erschien im Juni ein in Kooperation mit der INSM erstellter Special in „Focus Money“. Er befasste sich mit den Ursachen der Finanzkrise und notwendigen Lehren daraus.- „Made in Germany – Das deutsche Wunder“: Diese von der INSM unterstützte Beilage der „Welt-Gruppe“ zeichnete Krisen und Wunder der Sozialen Marktwirtschaft von der Währungsreform über die Ölkrise, den europäischen Einigungsprozess, die Wiedervereinigung bis zu den jüngsten Sozialreformen nach.

Special Issues, Inserts to the 60th anniversary of the Federal Republic: Happy Birthday publications for the social market economy
Cologne. – Last year Germany celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Federal Republic, the event inextricably linked to the Formal Proclamation of the Basic Law on 23 May, 1949, which is equally indissolubly connected to the social market economy that enabled the unparalleled economic recovery in West Germany.
The INSM took part in various journalism projects in the course of this anniversary.
„60 Years Federal Republic – a prosperity record“. This was the title of the special issue of the WirtschaftsååWoche magazine, published on 26 January: by means of scientific facts the progress of economy, life quality, prosperity of the people was examined on the 130 pages of the issue. Since 1950, the gross domestic product per capita has increase almost six-fold. Germany is therefore one of the most prosperous countries worldwide. Shorter working hours, more vacation leave – the life quality has greatly improved in the 60 years of the social market economy. On the issue of social justice, among other things, is to be found that public social spending has almost quadrupled since 1960. In addition to numerous, clearly presented info graphs, the magazine also provides convincing success stories, concise charts and synopses, and addresses the future challenges, such as demographics, globalization, and innovations.

„Made in Germany – the German Miracle“: this Welt Group newspaper insert, sponsored by the INSM, traced the crisis and the miracle of the social market economy from currency reform through oil crisis, European integration, unification of Germany, and up to the current social reforms. This is a quotation from a letter to the editor published on 28 May: “To read the Welt newspaper’s “60 Years Federal Republic” is a must-do. An interesting mix of past and currents facts on German miracle impressively describes what a great accomplishment, indeed a success story it is!”
„The end of the market economy?” This is the title of the June issue of “Focus Money”, created in cooperation with the INSM. It looked into the reasons behind the financial crisis and drew the necessary lessons for the future.
